When to see a podiatrist

For an ingrown toenail, corns and calluses, heel pain, flat or high-arched feet, custom orthotic insoles, or regular foot care if you have diabetes. A foot wound that does not heal in a person with diabetes, or a red, hot, swollen foot, needs a doctor without delay.

Prices

A consultation usually costs MAD 220–400. Custom orthotic insoles cost around MAD 800–1,200, up to MAD 2,500 for sports or premium models. Details (in French) in our podiatry price guide.

Insurance

For Moroccan residents, orthotic insoles can be reimbursed by the AMO with a prescription issued before they are made. Visitors usually pay and claim from their own insurance with a detailed receipt.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a podiatrist cost in Morocco?

Usually MAD 220–400 for a consultation; insoles are charged separately.

Is a podiatrist the same as a pedicurist?

No. A podiatrist (podologue) is a health professional who treats ingrown nails, corns and diabetic feet and makes orthotic insoles.
